Trying her luck?

A woman was caught on camera opening a Yishun resident’s shoe rack and taking a pair of sandals — only to put them back moments later after noticing a CCTV camera.

Stomper Siti shared footage of the incident with Stomp which happened outside her flat at Yishun Avenue 4 on March 12.

Describing the woman’s actions in the video, the Stomper said: “A lady walked along the corridor and appeared to be taking a photo of my unit number, pretending she was delivering a parcel.

“She then opened my closed shoe rack and took out my sandals.”

In the clip, the woman is seen quickly putting the sandals back after apparently noticing the CCTV camera before walking away.

Siti said she had not seen the woman in her neighbourhood before.

She added that her husband called the police the following day and was advised to call them immediately if such an incident occurred again.

“I’m sharing this so my neighbours can be aware,” she said.

“Please stay alert and keep an eye on your belongings in corridors, or do not put any items outside at all.”
