Woman swallowed by opening floor at Shenzhen train station
A Chinese woman fell into a hole which suddenly appeared on the floor, just as she was about to board a train station escalator.
The incident happened in Shenzhen, China last Saturday (Aug 26) at around 10am.
Fortunately, she escaped with only abrasions on her arms and legs.
A video of the incident was captured and uploaded onto platform Pear Video.
In the video, the woman could be seen walking behind a male companion, towards an escalator.
Suddenly, the floor in front of her collapsed, and the hapless woman fell in, disappearing from sight.
Her companion reached in to save her, as passers-by and train station staff rushed forward to help.
The woman was subsequently lifted out of the hole and conveyed to a hospital.
According to the Shenzhen Metro's Sina Weibo account, the woman had stepped on a damaged manhole cover and fallen inside.
