A woman was seen pressing the emergency communication button on the MRT numerous times -– but why?

Stomper Lau Lau sent a video of the incident which was posted to Facebook on May 8.

In the video, a woman in a striped shirt is seen pressing the emergency communication button a total of four times before finally alighting.

After she presses the button three times, as if she were on a bus, the train doors open.

However, she hesitates to leave and presses it once more.

She then makes her final exit while shouting, "Really lose the face of Singapore.”

One netizen pointed out that the same woman had been seen arguing over a reserved seat previously.

It appears she was, in fact, correct, as a video of the woman in the same outfit was posted on February 15, 2024.

The woman even used the same phrase.

It seems both videos were of the same incident, but were taken by two separate people.

The woman started pressing the emergency button after the argument.

In response to an earlier Stomp query, SMRT reminds all commuters that the emergency communication button should be activated only in an emergency.

Do you think that was an overreaction?
