Woman rants 'condescendingly' at passenger for non-stop videoing on Scoot flight from Tokyo -- but is she wrong?
A woman was caught on camera telling off a fellow passenger on a Scoot flight from Tokyo's Narita Airport to Singapore for allegedly recording videos non-stop throughout the journey.
Stomper Tanya shared with Stomp that the exchange took place on Nov 9.
"I came across a Karen on the flight who was speaking extremely condescendingly to a Japanese traveller who was videoing his whole journey and that bothered her," she said.
In the video, the woman can be heard reprimanding the passenger for filming excessively.
"Get a private seat somewhere in the plane instead of in close spaces," the woman is heard saying.
"I think this is very unacceptable behaviour.
"You don't do that on the Shinkansen, you don't do it on a train.
"In Japan, they always say 'quiet'."
"This is the amount of space I have."
She also criticised the man for not having any 'direction' while shooting.
"You do it for two minutes, I don't mind," she said.
"But 30 minutes, 40 minutes is very unacceptable, okay? Understand?
"In Singapore, we live in bigger spaces, we don't live in tiny spaces like this."
She added that the man can film as much as he wants after the flight, saying: "Once you get out of the plane, you have a lot of time to shoot whatever you want on whatever device you have.
"You can spend the next 24 hours shooting, no problem. But in the plane, it is a problem, okay?"
While the Stomper found the woman's tone unnecessarily 'condescending', the woman might have a valid point about personal space and privacy.
What do you think?
