A woman was frustrated to see students hogging tables at a Starbucks at Seletar Mall despite customers being advised tables are for the consumption of food and drinks only.

A Stomper alerted Stomp to the Facebook post by a netizen.

"I was very pleased when Starbucks came out with the No Studying / Work policy," she said.

"But looks like their policy is fading off."

She noted that she saw students hogging tables with four chairs when there were just two or one of them.

She added that when she alerted the cafe's staff, she was allegedly told that the manager said they could not chase away seat hoarders.

Starbucks responded to the netizen's complaint and explained that the dine-in duration in their stores is strictly for consumption of food and drinks only to minimise prolonged contact during this period.

It also acknowledged its team could have done a better job managing this.
