Woman dismayed upon opening food from Telok Blangah stall: 'Stop pushing costs to consumers'
A woman felt shortchanged by a coffee shop stall at Block 46 Telok Blangah Drive after getting what she felt were "kid-sized" portions of food.
Stomper A also took issue with having to pay for takeaway boxes, which she feels benefit businesses more than consumers.
She told Stomp on March 4: "I bought two takeaway boxes of cuttlefish and minced meat porridge (includes egg by default) for the total price of $9.60 ($4.50 + $0.30 per box) x2 from the Fong Hup stall.
"I was both appalled and dismayed to see such small portions when I opened the food. It is really kids' portions.
"The box itself was small to begin with and it measured about 8cm tall by 14cm, but the porridge was not filled to the top. There was a considerably big gap of 3cm. The ingredients were also not a lot."

The Stomper noted that she also had to pay $0.30 for "a paper box that cannot be reused".
She added: "The whole box was printed in colour and advertises the stall's range of food and company brand."
She also had a similar experience at VivoCity's Beach Road Scissors Cut Curry Rice eatery, which charged $0.50 for a takeaway box "printed in colour and advertising their company name."

"I can't help but feel that we are bearing unnecessary costs as consumers. Companies are conveniently pushing costs to us as we all know that colour printing is expensive," said April.
"I sincerely hope to create awareness about this business practice and question if this is even fair and ethical to consumers."
