Woman appeals for help after beloved cockatiel allegedly stolen at Pending Road
A woman is appealing for the public's help to find her pet cockatiel, which was allegedly stolen after flying out of her kitchen window on Sept 13.
Stomper Shruthi told Stomp that the eight-month-old bird named Skittles landed near the carpark between Blocks 112 and 113 Pending Road at around 10am.
"We saw a man in his 30s acting suspiciously near where Skittles landed," she said.
"When we called out to him, he immediately rode off on a blue bicycle with a black basket towards Petir, last seen around Blocks 116 and 117 Pending Road.
"We also noticed something resembling Skittles' tail feather on him."
She added that the man appeared to be in his 30s and was clean-shaven.
He was wearing a brown checkered shirt, khaki shorts or pants, and a cap.
Shruthi said a police report has been filed and urged residents in the area to be on the lookout.
About Skittles:
- Very friendly but has sharp claws
- Clipped wings - cannot fly far
- Squawks and whistles loudly
- Grey markings around chest, neon/butter yellow and grey feathers, and orange blush on cheeks
- Silver leg ring
"Skittles is a beloved family member and we want it safely back home," said Shruthi.
"If you see Skittles, hear its squawks, or notice unusual bird noises from a neighbour's home, please contact me via text or inform the police immediately."
"Neighbours around the area, please be extra vigilant.
"Your help could make all the difference.
"Thank you, Stomp community, for helping us find Skittles."
