Woman alarmed after stranger screams, kicks door and damages CCTV at Sengkang rental flat
A woman who recently moved into a public rental flat in Sengkang was left shaken after a man she had never seen before came to her doorstep late at night and caused a disturbance.
Stomper S told Stomp the incident happened on July 24 at about 10.30pm.
She had moved in with her child just a few months ago.
"I received a theft alarm notification from my CCTV system indicating it had been tampered with," the resident recounted.
Upon reviewing the footage, she was shocked to see a male stranger standing outside her flat.
"He was shouting, screaming vulgarities and appeared to be intoxicated or under the influence," S shared. "He opened my front door, which was unlocked due to a faulty mechanism, and began kicking it violently."
The man also damaged her CCTV camera and allegedly smashed her neighbour's flowerpot, which was located along the corridor.
"This was not random, it was deliberate and terrifying," she said.
Fortunately, the woman and her child were not at home during the incident.
But that was not the end of it.
"The man came back a second time," she said. "Thankfully, the police were already at my gate by then and caught him."
The resident is now concerned for her family's safety and hopes to raise awareness about what happened to her.
"How can we live in peace and feel safe?"
Stomp has contacted the police for more information.
