Woman, 50, arrested in Geylang hotel for providing sexual services, allegedly used food court as meeting place
A 50-year-old woman was arrested at a Geylang Road hotel on May 29 for providing sexual services.
She allegedly used a Geylang Lorong 23 foodcourt as a place of assignation.
It was where 42 people were arrested for offences under the Women’s Charter.
A 49-year-old woman was also arrested for conducting unlawful lotteries at the food court. Betting-related paraphernalia were seized.
The enforcement operation was conducted by officers from the Criminal Investigation Department, Bedok Police Division and Immigration & Checkpoints Authority.
Investigations are ongoing.
Any person who keeps, manages or assists in the management of a place of assignation, shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $100,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding five years or to both.
Any person who is found to be involved in the unlawful conduct of lotteries shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $500,000 and shall also be punished with imprisonment for a term not exceeding seven years.
