An eatery at Westgate mall is looking for a customer who overpaid his $5.40 bill.

The man had paid $540 instead and the eatery hopes to refund him the excess $534.60.

Mun Zuk owner, Mrs Tan, told Stomp that the incident occurred on June 10 at around 2pm.

She said: "This gentleman scanned our QR code for the PayNow transaction, keyed in the amount himself and left.

"Our staff was busy during the time of the incident as it was lunch time.

"Shortly after we realised the overpayment, we searched the mall to look for the customer but couldn't find him anywhere. We waited for him to come back, but he didn't.

"We have CCTV footage of the incident and are now hoping to reach him as soon as possible to refund the excess amount. We also made a social media post about it, hoping to return him the balance.

"We need Stomp's help to locate him, please."

Mun Zuk shared a photo of the man on its Facebook page and urged the customer to get in touch.

It added: "No questions asked - we just want to return the money to its rightful owner."
