A woman was left shocked after encountering an unexpected 'waterfall' at the void deck of Block 110 Spottiswoode Park on May 27 at 3.23pm.

This was the first time Stomper Anonymous witnessed an issue like this in the area, so she shared a video with Stomp.

She said: "The ceiling looks like it's made of cardboard, and the water was flowing down from the lights."

The Stomper did not report the incident to the town council, but noted the leak had stopped upon returning home later that evening.

In response to a Stomp query, a Tanjong Pagar Town Council spokeswoman said the issue was discovered during routine corridor washing by their conservancy team.

The spokeswoman told Stomp: "Upon closer inspection, we discovered a leak in the rainwater downpipe that runs through the ground level.

"The pipe is enclosed within a calcium silicate ceiling board, which had become damp as a result of the leak."

To carry out the necessary repair work on the pipe, the affected ceiling board has been removed, and all washing activities at the block have been put on hold.

Safety signage has been put up to ensure the safety of residents and visitors.

Repair works are expected to be completed by the end of the week.
