A photo showing ladybugs attached to the roof of a dog's mouth has recently gone viral, with many dismissing it as a fake. Unfortunately, honesttopaws concluded that the photo was unedited.
A veterinarian from Kansas, USA pointed out that although uncommon, ladybug infestations could cause excessive drooling or foaming at the mouth.
The ladybugs can be removed with a spoon or tongue depressor.
The particular ladybug species is called the "Asian Ladybeetle". These bugs will secrete a liquid which will burn into the roof of a dog’s mouth and helps the bugs stay attached.
