Van overturns in Hougang accident: Stomper cuts driver free before he's arrested for careless driving
A 38-year-old van driver was arrested for careless driving causing grievous hurt following an accident which sent three others to the hospital on June 2.
Stomper Jay shared with Stomp that he witnessed the van allegedly running a red light at about 90kmh at the junction of Hougang Avenue 3 and Lorong Ah Soo.
"It hit a motorbike, narrowly missed pedestrians even though the lights were in their favour, and hit a lorry ferrying workers," he said.

"I rescued the van driver, who was still asleep in his seat, upside down and trapped in his seatbelt.
"I used a penknife to cut the seatbelt.
"He seemed to have suffered minor injuries."

In response to a Stomp query, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) and the police said they were alerted to the accident at 6.40pm and 6.45pm respectively.
A 58-year-old male motorcyclist and two male lorry passengers, aged 37 and 21, were taken conscious to Singapore General Hospital.
Police investigations are ongoing.
