Unleashed dog on Chinatown pavement is 'dangerous for everyone': Stomper
A pedestrian has raised concerns after spotting a dog walking freely on a pavement along South Bridge Road in Chinatown, without a leash or collar.
Stomper Merve said she witnessed the incident on Nov 24 at about 10.21am, and shared videos from the scene.
"As responsible pet owners in Singapore, we strictly follow the rules to ensure the safety of our dogs and the public," she said.
"I witnessed a dog walking freely in the middle of the city without a leash or even a collar, while the owner was nearby.
"This situation puts the dog's life at serious risk and also endangers others."
After sending in the footage, the Stomper added: "This video clearly proves that she is the owner of that dog."
Merve said she felt it was her responsibility to report the behaviour, adding that some pet owners seem to be forgetting Singapore's regulations regarding pet control.
"I hope the necessary action will be taken. Thank you," she said.
Pet owners are required by law to leash their dogs in public. Those who fail to do so may be fined up to $5,000.
