A family is appealing for witnesses to come forward following a fatal accident involving a power-assisted bicycle (PAB) and a trailer at the junction of Yishun Avenue 2 and Yishun Avenue 7 on Dec 17.

The police and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) told Stomp they were alerted to the accident at about 7.25am.

The 46-year-old female PAB rider was taken to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

A police spokesperson said the 52-year-old male trailer driver was arrested for driving without reasonable consideration causing death.

One of the woman's children and a family friend reached out to Stomp to appeal for witnesses.

According to Stomper Meng, the family friend, the woman had remarried just two months ago.

In a poster, the children wrote: "Our beloved mother lost her life after being struck by a trailer in this area.

"We are urgently appealing for any witnesses who may have been in the vicinity or seen any part of this incident, no matter how small the detail may seem, to come forward and assist with the investigation.

"Your help could make a difference."

Police investigations are ongoing.
