A 22-year-old motorcyclist was arrested for multiple offences after attempting to evade a routine Traffic Police check along the Kranji Expressway (KJE) on Jan 6.

Several Stompers alerted to a clip of the incident that has been circulating on social media.

In the video, a TP officer is seen signalling at the rider.

Instead of stopping, the rider keeps going and the pillion rider is seen stretching his arm out towards the officer.

As the TP officer chases after the motorcycle onto a slip road towards Bukit Panjang Road, the pillion rider is seen jumping off the motorcycle and running 'into the forest', as described by the caption on the video.

In response to a Stomp query, the police said the TP officer signalled for the motorcyclist to stop for a routine check along KJE to Bukit timah Expressway (BKE) at about 11.30am.

"The motorcyclist instead sped off for a distance before his pillion rider jumped off the motorcycle along BKE slip road into Bukit Panjang Road and fled on foot," a police spokesperson said.

"The 22-year-old male motorcyclist subsequently self-skidded along Dairy Farm Road and was arrested for driving without valid licence, driving without valid insurance, dangerous driving and failing to stop when ordered by a police officer in uniform."

Efforts are underway to trace the pillion rider and police investigations are ongoing.
