Aljunied-Hougang Town Council has removed bulky items placed at the staircase landing of a Housing Board (HDB) block in Hougang Meadow following feedback from a resident.

Stomper A had alerted Stomp to the clutter on the ground-floor staircase landing at Block 365 Upper Serangoon Road and expressed safety concerns.

He said: "The staircase should also be free of obstruction in case of a fire. In fact, the bulky items are at high risk of being fire hazards themselves."

Photos that A took last Wednesday (July 15) show a supermarket trolley, a cabinet, an office chair, various household appliances and multiple storage bins amongst the clutter.

In response to a Stomp query, a spokesman for Aljunied-Hougang Town Council said it has "identified and communicated" with the individual who placed the items there.

"The items have since been removed by the town council," added the spokesman.
