Town council removes bamboo rack causing danger and obstruction at Segar Road void deck
Holland Bukit Panjang Town Council has removed a hazardous bamboo rack from the void deck of Block 470 Segar Road.
A resident spotted the bamboo rack on July 4 and shared photos with Stomp. He said the rack was still there the next day.
Expressing safety concerns, the Stomper said: "I pray that no elderly people walk through here. If they have weak eyesight and walk into the rack, they would be GONE case and maybe land in hospital.
"People who always press handphone and speeding e-bikers who dash through without looking might also be GONE case."
Responding to a Stomp query on July 5, a spokeswoman for Holland Bukit Panjang Town Council said: "In view of the public safety hazard posed, the town council has removed the bamboo rack that was causing obstruction to residents and passers-by.
"We will be contacting the resident(s) involved to advise them on how to claim their items from the town council.
"We would like to appeal to all residents to refrain from obstructing common areas such as corridors, common pathways, and staircase landings. Your cooperation is essential in maintaining a safe and pleasant environment for everyone."
The town council will continue to monitor the situation closely to ensure the well-being of all residents, added the spokeswoman.
