A local TikToker and actress has offered an insider's perspective on what it's like to act in an episode of Crimewatch, the long-running television series that dramatises real-life cases handled by the Singapore Police Force.

In the TikTok post, user @valeriebubbletea, who played a police officer in an episode about housebreaking and theft, shared snippets of the filming process.

The behind-the-scenes footage showed the dedication of the cast and crew, and also highlighted a K9 unit dog.

Valerie quipped that the dog 'stole the show'.

Her sharing fascinated TikTok viewers, including Stomper Anonymous who simply remarked: "Wow."

The filming extended from 7pm into the early hours of the next day, concluding after 5am, with a supper break at about midnight at a local prata shop.

For many Singaporeans, Crimewatch is more than just a TV show, it's a cultural staple.

Airing since 1986, the series blends education and entertainment, dramatising actual criminal cases to raise public awareness about crime prevention.

Each episode also features tips from the police and showcases their investigative methods, which resonate deeply with viewers who value safety and law enforcement efforts in the city-state.

In the comments, a viewer cheekily said she might become a 'viral meme' now that she has added this to her resume.

Valerie humorously made references to some iconic moments that have come from the show, saying: "I wish I could be as legendary as the woman was too stunned to speak."

She urged viewers to ask her anything about the experience and to stay tuned as she shares more behind-the-scenes action.
