Texas-based woman appeals for help to find niece in Singapore before leaving on Aug 13
A woman visiting Singapore from the United States is appealing for help to locate her niece before she leaves the country on Aug 13.
Stomper Z said she has been trying to find her niece, whom she last knew as Nur Aisha Deana Binte Mohd Shahri, to inform her of her late mother's passing and an unclaimed sum from her mother's CPF savings.
"I have limited time in Singapore and will be returning to Mexico and the USA by the 13th," she told Stomp.
Her sister, Juriah Binte Yousoff, died recently.
Z said she is certain her niece is unaware of the death. Deana's two brothers, Muhammad Mikhail and Muhammad Danial Bin Mohd Shahri, are also uncontactable.
Z, who is in her 50s, believes her niece is now in her early 20s. She recalled that Deana was given up for adoption to an elderly couple when she was young.
"I believe she attended SAGS, but my memory is a blur at the moment due to my father's and closest uncle's recent passing," she said.
"We share the same date of birth, Oct 29, except for the year."
Z said she has photographs of Deana and her family on her mother's side that she would like to pass on to her.
"Their father never wanted any of the children, so I will wait and see if Deana contacts me to ask if she wants to see what that man looked like, and I can go through my luggage for pictures of him," she said.
"I have no relatives here to ask, thus I am compelled to approach you for assistance.
"If she contacts Stomp, please give her my number and let her know that I will not return to Singapore after this trip."
If you are Deana or have any information, kindly contact Stomp at stomp@stomp.com.sg or WhatsApp 9384 3761.
