Taxi catches fire in Yishun, explosion caught on video
A blue ComfortDelgro taxi caught fire near Block 149 Yishun Street 11 on Tuesday morning (May 30).
A Stomper shared a video showing flames coming from under the bonnet of the vehicle on the side of the road.
A small explosion was caught on another video posted on TikTok.
In response to a Stomp query, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to the fire at about 6.40am.
"The fire involved the engine compartment of a car. SCDF extinguished the fire using two water jets.
"There were no reported injuries," said SCDF, adding that the cause of the fire is under investigation.
