Taiwanese actress Joe Chen arrested for drink-driving
Actress Joe Chen, 38, was pulled over in her Mini Cooper by a police officer and arrested after failing a breathalyser test.
A video captured by the cop's camera shows Chen's vehicle beating a red light at a road intersection in Taipei early yesterday morning (Jan 4).
According to Apple Daily Taiwan, her breathalyser test showed a blood alcohol reading of 0.67mg/L. The legal limit in Taiwan is 0.15mg/L.
Chen, who starred in idol dramas such as 'Fated to Love You' and 'The Prince Who Turns Into A Frog', was released on a bail of NT$100,000 (S$4,500).
While leaving the Taipei district prosecutor's office, she said "sorry" as a horde of reporters questioned her about the incident, reported AsiaOne.
The A-lister later apologised profusely on Weibo for her actions and said she had consumed alcohol while taking a bath at home, then driven nearby to buy supper.
She added that she would learn from this incident and would not violate traffic rules again.
