'Super smelly' urine trail in Buangkok corridor leaves resident disgusted
A trail of urine was found at the 16th-level corridor of Block 999A Buangkok Crescent.
Stomper Tan spotted the alarming sight on the morning of May 18.
"I don't know which resident urinated all over the corridor," he said.
"The whole corridor lift area was super smelly with a strong musky smell."
Tan told Stomp he reported the matter to the Ang Mo Kio Town Council (AMKTC), which sent a cleaner to clean the area.
However, he said that the incident happened again a few days later.
He also explained that he had asked the town council to install CCTV cameras around the area to find the culprit.
Following a Stomp query, an AMKTC spokesperson gave the following statement:
"AMKTC is aware of the issue of urination at the common corridor of level 16, Block 999A Buangkok Crescent.
"We have promptly activated our conservancy workers to wash and disinfect the affected area daily as part of our routine cleaning, and we are monitoring the situation closely.
"We have also referred the matter to the National Environment Agency (NEA) due to the recurring nature of the issue.
"Regarding the installation of CCTVs, residents who wish to install temporary surveillance cameras in the common areas will need to seek approval from AMKTC.
"Such requests are evaluated on a case-by-case basis and are subject to conditions, including the filing of a police report and compliance with privacy and data protection guidelines.
"Temporary approval, if granted, is typically for a period of up to six months.
"As part of our community engagement, we have also displayed educational posters in the lift car noticeboards of the block to discourage such inconsiderate behaviour.
"We will continue to work with relevant agencies and residents to maintain a clean and pleasant living environment for all."
