A library patron felt disrupted during his visit to Punggol Regional Library on June 14 while an event was being held on the first floor of the building.

Stomper Anon took videos from the third floor of the library, where children can be heard playing loudly.

Anon questioned: "Why is there a double standard? A library is supposed to be a quiet place, but the ground floor allows activities to be held as if noise will not travel to disturb the quiet environment of a library."

The event was organised by SportCares, the philanthropic arm of Sport Singapore. It featured a booth dubbed the Play Inclusive booth, that aimed to promote inclusion in sports.

According to an Instagram post by SportCares, the booth included a space to play a Paralympic precision sport called boccia, as well as a colouring activity for kids. The event also gave out Play Inclusive bookmarks.

Stomp understands that the first floor of Punggol Regional Library is a flexible space often used for events and exhibitions, and that posters were placed throughout the library to inform patrons about the event.
