Shoppers at Johor Bahru's KSL City Mall were left stunned when part of the ceiling collapsed on the evening of March 8.

KSL City Mall is a short drive from the JB checkpoint and is a popular destination for Singaporeans.

Stomper Kohji shared photos and videos he took, showing the aftermath.

The singer-songwriter shared that he experienced the shocking incident on the first floor at about 7.15pm.

"While I was collecting clothing from a shop called Good Fashion, a staff member urged me to step outside and look up," he said.

"The ceiling was in the process of collapsing -- gradually coming down before ending with a loud crash and striking one of the kiosks."

In a video he shared, plaster and bent metal frames are seen dangling from the ceiling and scattered on the ground.

The area was cordoned off by the mall's staff.

No casualties were reported in the incident, reports The Star.

When contacted on March 9, Larkin Fire Station chief Mohd Suhaimi Abdul Jamal said no official report had been lodged regarding the incident.

Johor Bahru southern district police chief Raub Selamat also confirmed that no police report has been filed, but authorities are looking into the matter.
