A woman alleged that a man followed a teenage girl from Lakeside MRT station to a bus stop near the Pioneer station on May 22.

Stomper V decided to step in and drove the man away.

She recounted: "While I was on the bus, I noticed a 16-year-old girl who appeared to be uncomfortable with a man standing close behind her.

"Concerned for her safety, I approached her before getting off at my stop to ask if she was being bothered. She confirmed that she was.

"To ensure her safety, I encouraged her to get off the bus with me. The man also exited at the same stop, which raised my concerns further.

"As we walked towards the market area, the girl informed me that this individual had been following her from Lakeside all the way to the bus stop."

As the man continued stalking them, the Stomper decided to do something about it.

V said: "While walking through the market area, I confronted the man and asked why he was following her. He consistently denied his actions.

"I warned him that if he continued to lurk around us, I would not hesitate to contact the police. This seemed to deter him as he then walked away to the opposite bus stop.

"During this encounter, I took a photograph of him for identification purposes."

After ensuring the girl made it safely to her block, the Stomper reminded her to report the incident to the police.

V told Stomp: "I believe it is essential to bring such matters to your attention as they pose potential risks to the safety of individuals in our community."

The Stomper also posted about the incident on Instagram and received a message on May 23 from someone who had encountered the same man.

The message read: "It shocked me after seeing this post because I bumped into this idiot yesterday at Jurong East near Block 134 coffee shop while having lunch, and he looked high on something and winked his eyes at me!

"Luckily, my husband was there and this idiot almost got beaten up because he stood there looking at me! He was also wearing the same exact shirt yesterday!"

Following the incident, the Stomper urged everyone to be aware of his or her surroundings.

V told Stomp: "We hope you can help share this to alert the public, especially women and young girls, to stay vigilant in the area and to encourage people to report immediately if they see anything suspicious.

"It could really help prevent something worse from happening."
