Stomper calls SCDF after seeing smoke and 'faint light' coming from 2nd-storey window in Woodlands
A fire broke out at Block 151 Woodlands Street 13 in the early hours of May Day and was put out by the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF).
Photos shared by a Stomper show flames in a second-storey flat of the block and at least two fire engines at the scene.
"I was driving home when I noticed there was smoke and a faint light coming from the window of the flat. That was when I stopped the car to check out the situation," said the Stomper.
"I called the firemen thereafter."
In response to a Stomp query, SCDF said it was alerted to the fire on May 1 at about 1.25am.
About 25 people evacuated before SCDF arrived.
"The fire involved the contents of a bedroom of a unit on the second floor," said SCDF.
"The fire was extinguished by SCDF using a water jet. SCDF assessed four persons for smoke inhalation and they refused conveyance to the hospital."
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
