A resident who previously raised concerns about pickleball noise in Tengah is urging more town councils to follow the lead of estates that have restricted or banned the sport in residential areas.

Stomper Anon, who earlier shared about the loud games at Block 119A Plantation Crescent, said pickleball continues to disturb residents across different estates and more public awareness is needed.

The Stomper shared a TikTok post showing how some town councils have already taken action.

According to posters featured in the post, Jalan Besar Town Council has restricted pickleball playtime at a court to between 9am and 3pm.

In another screenshot shared by the Stomper, Pickleball Singapore questioned why play at a Sims Drive court is allowed only from 3pm to 6pm.

In comparison, Ang Mo Kio Town Council has taken stronger action by banning pickleball entirely at a certain court.

"I hope more town councils follow these rulings," said the Stomper. "There's been a lack of news on pickleball restrictions and bans in residential areas.

"We need more public awareness about pickleball noise."

In his previous contribution to Stomp, Anon had complained about players at a Tengah multi-purpose court who allegedly ignored time restrictions and played for up to five hours a day.

"They start as early as 7.30am and can go on till night," he said. "The sound echoes between blocks, and it's unbearable even with the windows closed."

Chua Chu Kang Town Council had previously responded that the court at Block 119A Plantation Crescent is an open, multi-purpose facility meant for all residents, but reminded players to be considerate and adhere to quiet hours.

The Stomper said the issue remains unresolved despite advisories being put up and hopes his feedback will encourage other affected residents to voice their concerns.

"Many of us are suffering from the noise," he added. "If more residents raise this, perhaps town councils will take stronger action."
