Sparks fly as PAB catches fire in Toa Payoh, 1 suffers minor injuries

A power-assisted bicycle (PAB) caught fire in Toa Payoh on Feb 25.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) told Stomp it was alerted to the fire along Lorong 4 Toa Payoh at around 7.50pm.

Videos circulating online show the PAB in flames in the middle of the road, with sparks flying and smoke billowing from it.

A voice in the background can be heard saying that there was an "explosion" and how "scary" it was.

The fire was extinguished by SCDF using a compressed air foam backpack.

SCDF said it assessed a person for minor injuries and the person declined to be sent to the hospital.

The cause of fire is under investigation.
