Smoker tells resident to 'Stomp him' after lighting up in Sin Ming lift
A man confronted a smoker who lit up inside a lift at Block 410 Sin Ming Avenue on Jan 22.
Stomper Koh said the incident happened at about 5pm and shared a video of the man holding a lit cigarette.
"I told him to wait until he was outside before lighting the cigarette, but he ignored me and told me to Stomp him," recounted Koh.
"Let his wish be granted."
Smoking in lifts, lift lobbies, and other common areas of residential buildings is strictly prohibited under the Smoking (Prohibition in Certain Places) Act.
Offenders caught smoking in a prohibited place are generally liable to a composition fine of $200. If convicted in court, they can face a fine of up to $1,000.
This incident comes after similar complaints on Stomp about smokers lighting up in prohibited places and ignoring no-smoking signs, with one Stomper questioning why she had to "breathe in second-hand cigarette smoke".
