Sometimes you just really need to lie down.

Considering how much time many commuters spend on public transport, perhaps it's understandable they would make themselves as comfortable they can – often to the discomfort of other commuters.

Sharing a photo of a man lying down across four seats on the MRT train, Stomper Fion called it an "inconsiderate act" on the East-West Line.

Using a backpack as his pillow, the barefooted man appeared to be enjoying a nice nap before reaching his destination.

Stomper Anonymous shared a photo of another man who took up only three seats as he grabbed some shut-eye on the Downtown Line train.

With no accessories to use as a pillow, this man rested his head on his hands and left his slippers on the floor as he drifted off into dreamland.

"A passenger shook him to wake him up, but he still continued to sleep," said the Stomper.

Is it better or worse that both these sleepy heads remove their footwear before having a lie-down?

While there is no regulation that specifies lying down is not allowed on the train, drinking is unequivocally prohibited and punishable by a fine of up to $500.

But some people don't seem to know or just don't care.

Stomper Victor shared photos of a woman letting a young girl and a young boy sip from a plastic cup.

The Stomper is tired of this.

"Everyday, I mean everyday, I see students especially after schools eating titbits and mostly drinking on the MRT train and the premises," said Victor.

"I complained to the MRT staff. One told me that they have only two people working. The other said, 'We have been playing the record to tell passenger not to eat and drink on MRT premises.'

"But how many people will listen to the 'record'? There are so many foreign workers and tourists. How many passengers will listen and understand?

"The stickers telling passengers not to eat and drink are so small and getting fewer and fewer."

As if to prove Victor's point, Stomper J shared a photo of girls in school attire enjoying their drinks on the train platform at the Promenade station.

"Please post this to educate students and as a reminder not to drink on MRT premises," said J.

Another Stomper also shared a photo of two people drinking on the Jurong East train platform.
