Skip bin catches fire at Yishun block

A skip bin caught fire at Block 131 Yishun Street 11 on Sept 27.

Stomper Anonymous alerted Stomp to the fire and shared a video showing flames coming from within.

He shared that the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) soon arrived at the scene and left about one and a half hours later.

In response to a Stomp query, the SCDF said it was alerted to the fire at 1.40pm.

The fire involved the contents of a skip bin," an SCDF spokesperson said. "SCDF extinguished the fire using a hose reel."

There were no reported injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
