Singtel apologises for email offering 6-month free Singtel TV preview sent in error to 'unintended recipients'
Singtel sent an email to customers on May 30 apologising for an email sent earlier in error.
Stomper Grace shared screenshots of both emails.
"Singtel sent me email offering six-month free Singtel TV preview, but later sent me an email saying the offer was an error," said the Stomper.
The first email was sent on May 29 with the subject line: "You got a six-month preview on Singtel TV! No action needed, simply tune in to watch now."
The message read: "Dive into a six-month complimentary preview of over 100 channels, just for you! The preview is already available, so simply tune in now to enjoy.
"Worried about not being home in time to catch your shows? We have an on-demand feature where you can watch shows you missed at your own pace, and at no extra cost!
"Pick up your Singtel TV remote now to start watching."
Singtel customers who do not have Singtel TV also received the email, which caused some confusion.

The next day, Singtel customers received an email with the subject line: "Our apologies for the recent email error."
The message read: "We sincerely apologise for the emails you recently received regarding a 6-month free preview of Singtel TV.
"Due to a system error, this message was inadvertently sent to unintended recipients.
"We understand this may have caused confusion.
"Please be assured that we are reviewing our processes to prevent such occurrences in future."
The email was signed by Singtel customer management head Y. Lok.
