Is S'pore flag improperly displayed outside Serangoon Garden Market? MCCY says...
It's that time of the year again.
As we celebrate National Day, Singaporeans are flagging other Singaporeans for not displaying the national flag properly, now an annual ritual.
But are the complaints always justified?
Stomper Mathilda shared photos of what she claimed to be an improper display of the national flag outside the Serangoon Garden Market.
"I spotted flags hanging vertically with the stars and crescent on the top right corner," she said.
"It doesn't follow the law of the crescent and stars to be always on the top left corner."
Is she right in calling this out?

In response to a Stomp query, a spokesperson for Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth thanked the Stomper for her feedback.
"We note from the images submitted that the flag was displayed out of national pride and with no intention of disrespecting the flag," said the spokesperson.
"As part of National Day celebrations, Singaporeans and organisations are encouraged to display the national flag during the period from July 1 to Sept 30. The rules for flying and displaying the National Flag are relaxed during this period, as long as the national flag is treated with respect and used in an appropriate and dignified manner.
"For example, the national flag should be displayed with the crescent and stars in the top left position as seen by a spectator facing the National Flag.
"This is not the case for the National Flag displayed near Serangoon Garden Market. We have reached out to the organisation which put up the flag and they have rectified it."
