Shoppers shocked when escalator explodes in Selangor mall

A escalator in Pandan Kapital, a shopping mall located in Pandan Indah, Selangor exploded yesterday (Feb 8).
The incident sent entire steps and debris sliding down the escalator, reports The Coverage.
According to a witness, there was a loud ’thump’ sound before the escalator caved in.
Many shoppers were shocked by the sight of an escalator dismantling itself.
Fortunately, no one was hurt.
