Shop makes police report against Stomper claiming mum pressured into buying $1,200 skincare product
The Mineral Boutique has lodged a police report against the Stomper who claimed his 68-year-old mother was pressured into buying a $1,200 skincare product, a spokesperson for the shop told Stomp.
He said Stomper Amos had been "engaging in a concerted campaign to defame, harass, and disseminate malicious falsehoods aimed at damaging the retailer's esteemed reputation".
The spokesperson added: "As a purveyor of prestigious skincare products with locations at Nex and Jewel Changi, The Mineral Boutique vehemently denies all allegations made by this individual across multiple media platforms, including AsiaOne, Stomp and various forums such as Hardwarezone."
Stomp had reported the allegations as well as The Mineral Boutique's response at the time on Oct 14.

On Nov 1, the company released the following statement for clarification:
The troubling incidents began in May at our Nex mall outlet, where the individual, accompanied by his mother, requested a refund for a recent purchase. This refund was duly processed in full by June 3. However, the customer displayed aggressive behaviour towards The Mineral Boutique's staff. In October 2024, he escalated his actions through a series of defamatory posts and malicious reports aimed at local media, alongside libellous accusations targeting our dedicated team and management in what appears to be a calculated attempt to tarnish the company's reputation.
The spokesperson then listed the Stomper's alleged actions:
- Oct 7
Submitted misleading complaints to the management of Jewel Changi Airport and Nex mall, falsely alleging incidents that did not occur, with the intent of damaging The Mineral Boutique's reputation. - Oct 8
Posted defamatory comments on Hardwarezone, accusing the store of unethical practices and revealing the personal information of a Nex mall manager. He further distorted facts in a story submitted to Stomp, published on October 13, falsely alleging high-pressure selling tactics. - Oct 11
Used the alias "Derrick Law" to post further defamatory statements on the Complaint Singapore Facebook page, which have since been removed. - Oct 12
In an interview with AsiaOne under the alias "Derrick Law," he reiterated these unfounded claims, significantly damaging The Mineral Boutique's reputation. - Oct 13 to 14
Continued to post defamatory content under multiple aliases on Hardwarezone, amplifying his falsehoods. - Oct 20
Filed similar complaints with Shin Min Daily News, reiterating baseless allegations.
"This individual has repeatedly targeted government agencies and local organisations, including the Prime Minister's Office, landlords of Jewel Changi Airport and Nex mall, and the Consumers Association of Singapore to propagate misinformation and persist in his smear campaign," said the spokesperson.
"Additionally, he has made abusive calls to The Mineral Boutique in an effort to distress staff, while posting numerous false Google reviews accusing the business of unethical practices."
The spokesperson added: "The Mineral Boutique is committed to maintaining a safe environment for its staff and passionately upholding its reputation through transparent, lawful and ethical practices."
