Sheng Siong has apologised to a customer and is offering him a refund after he found what he believes to be worms in cherries he bought at one of their outlets.

Stomper Alvino had bought a punnet of fresh Turkish cherries from the Chin Swee Road store on June 16.

He told Stomp he kept the fruit in the fridge until he opened the packaging to eat half of the cherries on June 19.

It was kept in the fridge again until June 23 when he found organisms crawling out of the fruit.

He shared photos and videos of the 'worms'.

In response to a Stomp query, a spokesman from Sheng Siong said that the customer informed them of the incident on Monday afternoon (June 24).

"We have apologised to the customer and offered to conduct a refund for him," the spokesman said.
