Sellers of fake branded goods cover logos on products to evade detection by online platform
The sale of counterfeit branded goods is strictly prohibited on Shopee.
But some sellers are trying to get away with it by concealing the brand's logo on the products to evade detection.
To illustrate, Stomper Cathy shared screenshots of Shopee live-streamer holding a Chanel bag with her fingers over the logo.
"If you look at the screenshot, the lady was trying to cover up the logo of the goods," said the Stomper, who reported the live-stream to Shopee.

That isn't the only example.
Sharing a screenshot of a Shopee listing for a Louis Vuitton bag, the Stomper said: "The photo of the product on seller's page is photoshopped to hide the LV logo, which I've circled in red.

"Compare the price of the fake on Shopee against official LV shop's online price in Singapore, it is a big difference."
According the screenshots shared by the Stomper, the fake LV bag costs under $600 while the same bag from the official LV website is priced at $4,500.

In response to a Stomp query, a Shopee spokesperson said: "Shopee is steadfastly committed to protecting consumer interests and maintaining a trusted environment for online commerce. Listings that infringe intellectual property rights or involve counterfeit goods are expressly prohibited on our platform.
"We have manual and automated measures in place to identify and remove such listings, and our detection models are continually refined to respond to increasingly sophisticated tactics such as the concealment of brand indicators."
Both accounts highlighted by the Stomper have been banned.
"Shopee takes all reports seriously and encourages users to report suspected infringements via the in-app 'Report this Product' function. These reports are reviewed by our teams to ensure appropriate action is taken," added the spokesperson.
"We remain committed to enhancing our enforcement processes and supporting a safe, reliable shopping experience for all users."
