See what happens when you undergo cupping therapy every day for a month
A 63-year-old man from Sichuan, China was sent to hospital with a high fever and seven giant marks on his back.
Suffering from high cholesterol and other minor ailments, he had been undergoing cupping therapy every day for a month.
According to Shanghaiist, he went for his one-hour cupping therapy sessions after a clerk said to him:
"The treatment will cure you if you stick to the one-month cupping treatment."
Even though blisters started appearing after 10 days of cupping, the man insisted on going on with the treatment.
He broke the blisters and cleaned the wounds out with salt water.
Finally after a month, he was rushed to hospital with a temperature of 39.7 degrees Celcius.
Doctors were shocked to find that his blisters from the cupping had become severely infected.
If he had delayed going to the hospital, it could have turned into a life-threatening case of blood poisoning.
