A Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) officer has been charged with 10 counts of sexually penetrating a minor and one count of being in possession of obscene films.
The 33-year-old man, who cannot be named due to a gag order to protect the identities of the girl or girls, is accused of committing the offences between December 2023 and June 2024.
The Straits Times cannot ascertain the exact number of alleged victims involved as such information has been redacted from court documents.
He is accused of starting his crime spree on Dec 20, 2023, when he allegedly sexually penetrated a 15-year-old girl.
The man is said to have committed similar offences between January and April in 2024.
According to court documents, he allegedly did so at places that included multi-storey carparks in Telok Blangah and Clementi.
He is also accused of having seven obscene films in his laptop computer on June 20 that year.
Responding to queries from ST on April 28, SCDF said: "We immediately removed the officer from his field-related duties and placed him in an administrative post once we were informed that police investigations on him were ongoing.
"SCDF takes a very serious view of such conduct by our officers. (We expect) all our officers to always uphold exemplary standards of professionalism, conduct and discipline."
An SCDF spokesperson added that the agency is unable to comment further as court proceedings are ongoing. The man is expected to plead guilty in July.
For each count of sexually penetrating a minor, an offender can be jailed for up to 10 years and fined. And for being in possession of obscene films, an offender can be jailed for up to six months and fined up to $20,000.
