Double-decker bus hits taxi stand shelter at Bishan MRT Station, SBS Transit investigating

A double-decker SBS Transit bus hit the shelter of a taxi stand at Bishan MRT Station on Wednesday morning (June 26).

Stomper Kelvin alerted Stomp to the incident and shared footage taken from his in-car camera at about 8.50am.

In the video, the bus veers to the left in an apparent attempt to manoeuvre around other vehicles.

The top-left of the bus clips the shelter and a piece of debris is seen falling to the ground.

"The bus ripped away a piece of the shelter," said Kelvin.

"An eyewitness said the impact sent passengers running from their seats on the upper deck."

Responding to a Stomp query, Ms Tammy Tan, the operator's senior vice-president of corporate communication said no one was injured in the incident.

"A Service 13A bus hit the roof shelter of a taxi stand along Bishan Road this morning," she said.

"Thankfully no one was injured as a result.

"We apologise to commuters and road users who were affected by this incident and are investigating the incident."
