Rowdy students scream and shout on USS Sesame Street ride, leaving 4-year-old girl in tears
A fun day out at Universal Studios Singapore (USS) was ruined for a mother and her young daughter when a group of rowdy teenagers disrupted a children's ride with loud screaming on Feb 19.
The mother, who wishes to remain anonymous, shared with Stomp how she and her four-year-old daughter were enjoying the Sesame Street Spaghetti Space Chase ride when they were startled by excessively loud screams coming from a few vehicles behind them.
The sudden outburst frightened the Stomper's daughter, leaving the child in tears for the remainder of the ride.
"My daughter got so scared that she was crying the whole ride and didn't manage to enjoy it," the mother said.
"I was wondering who would be so inconsiderate and ignorant that they would just do whatever they wished to do without thinking about other guests who were in the ride as well."
After exiting the ride, she noticed a group of boys in school uniform talking about how they had been scolded by USS staff for their disruptive behaviour.
"I did not want to point fingers until my elder son saw this video on TikTok and stated that these are the boys who were shouting and screaming and scared our daughter," she said.
The video has since garnered over 200,000 views on the social media platform.
While some netizens found the boys' antics funny, others were less than amused.
When one netizen asked them how they got away with not getting scolded, the TikTok poster confessed they did get reprimanded.
"I don't find this funny at all sia," said another commenter.
The poster replied, "Cry about it?"
The Stomper added that she believes her family was not the only one affected by the group of youths.
To her dismay, the owner of the TikTok account claimed they informed the theme park staff that they were from a different school when a commenter questioned why they would behave in such a manner while wearing their school's PE T-shirts.
"This is extremely inappropriate! It is supposed to be a kid-friendly ride where everyone can enjoy themselves," she expressed.
"Their behaviour was not only inconsiderate but also completely unnecessary.
"If they wanted to scream, there are other thrilling rides where that would be more appropriate."
The incident left a lasting impact on her daughter, who was hesitant to go on the ride again during a subsequent visit, fearing another unpleasant experience.
"I do hope their school will find out about this and take action over this kind of behaviour," she said.
