A resident has voiced frustration over the condition of a community garden at Block 105A Bidadari Park Drive, saying he has been flagging the issue for more than a year with little improvement.

Stomper Wah told Stomp that the passageway within the fourth-floor community garden has become increasingly overgrown, cluttered and difficult to walk through.

He expressed concerns about safety and said the area could become a home for snakes if left unchecked.

"It's quite alarming," he said. "I'm concerned someone might get hurt or it becomes a humble abode for sssssss (snakes)."

According to the Stomper, he first reported the issue over a year ago, but was repeatedly referred between different agencies, including Jalan Besar Town Council (JBTC) and the Residents' Network (RN).

"I was sent from pillar to post," he said.

"RN gave empty promises, saying they would ballot for new gardeners. Months passed with no updates.

"When I checked again, they said management was clearing rules. Months later, still not done.

"Now they say management has approved but keys have not been given to new gardeners - and the person I was corresponding with is leaving."

He said the prolonged inaction has left him questioning why such a simple matter has taken nearly a year to resolve.

"This is Singapore, right? Should such behaviour be condoned?"

The Stomper also shared several WhatsApp screenshots showing his exchanges with garden management groups. He added that after escalating the issue to his MP, some workers were eventually seen attending to the site.

"I suppose this will only last a few months before the jungle appears again," he said. "I hope the town council will address the root of the problem - their poor management."

In response to a Stomp query, JBTC said: "Jalan Besar Town Council has informed the operator of the community garden, and rectification works are being arranged.

"The town council will continue to monitor the situation closely to ensure the issue is properly addressed.

"We thank the Stomper for bringing this matter to our attention."
