A Yishun resident came across an unexpected sight while walking in his neighbourhood at 2am on Sunday (Mar 21).

Stomper T shared with Stomp photos of a reticulated python slithering through a grass patch near Block 114 Yishun Ring Road.

"It was about five to seven feet (1.5 to 2m) long," he said.

"I contacted NParks and waited for a few minutes."

Members of the public who encounter a live snake are advised to keep calm and observe it from a safe distance. Do not approach it or attempt to catch it.

For more information on what to do when you see a snake, check out NParks' advisory.
