Police called after scuffles break out among foreign workers in massive queue at driving centre
The police were called after scuffles break out among foreign workers queuing at the Singapore Safety Driving Centre in Woodlands, said a witness.
Stomper NF shared a video of a crowd of men shouting in front of a long line of people in the driving centre on Sept 2 morning.
"The foreign workers gathered as early as 6am to storm the Traffic Police counter at Singapore Safety Driving Centre," said the Stomper.
They were there because of changes the Ministry of Manpower made to the criteria for applying for a heavy vehicle licence, according to the Stomper.
"The workers arrived by lorries, crowding the lobby," added the Stomper, who shared a photo of the police at the scene.
"The police were called to take control of the situation. There were scuffles among the workers who jumped queue."
Stomp understands no arrests were made and has contacted the Singapore Safety Driving Centre for more info.
Others also posted videos of the queue online.
