A personal mobility device (PMD) user ignored a red light and rode into a moving double-decker bus at a Yishun crossing.

Stomper Lau Lau alerted Stomp to a dashcam video of the incident posted online by Beh Chia Lor - Singapore Road on July 19.

The caption said: "Young man on PMD crosses on red man during heavy traffic and hits straight into side of moving bus. Breaks his PMD and injures his head. Happened yesterday along Yishun Avenue 6."

The video is credited to a Mr Chua.

In the video, the rider appeared to be just scraped by the bus, causing him to lose control of his PMD, as the bus continued on its journey.

While other vehicles went past him, the rider picked up his PMD and pushed it to the side of the road. A close-up of the rider seems to show blood on the side of his face.

Comments on the video were not sympathetic.

One Facebook user said: "He deserves it. He should count himself lucky that he is given a second chance and hope he learns from it."

Another commented: "The problem is that this errant rider is not only endangering his own life, he endangered others as well. What if a car took evasive actions but run into another vehicle or pedestrians? The authorities shouldn't take this lightly."

Other netizens were more concerned for the bus driver with one pointing out: "It's because of people like him that innocent drivers get blamed all the time!"

PMD seller Mobot replied to one of the comments: "This is clearly a modified Fiido e-scooter. We do not condone modification in any way, nor do we offer modification services."

Less than two weeks earlier, another PMD rider also ignored a red light at a road crossing and was hit by a car. She was able to get up and walk after the accident.

It was also in Yishun.
