PMD rider crossing road against light sent tumbling by car in Yishun, still able to get up and walk
A personal mobility device (PMD) rider collided with a car in Yishun and was taken to the hospital on July 6.
A dashcam video of the collision circulating online shows the PMD rider crossing the road when the light was not in her favour.
She was hit by an oncoming vehicle which sent her tumbling. While dazed, the woman was able to get up and walk as a man got out of the car.
In response to a Stomp query, the police said they were alerted to the accident at the junction of Yishun Avenue 4 and Yishun Street 51 at about 11.34am.
The woman was conscious when taken to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.
The 46-year-old driver is assisting with police investigations, which are ongoing
Netizens blame the PMD rider for the accident.
One commented on the video: "How can you just ride across blindly without looking around for traffic and the traffic light was in red. What a foolish act!"
Another said: "Do we have pity on this ignorant rider? No! We have pity on the driver of that car. He has to stop driving for couple of days for the investigation, but thankfully, the rider is not seriously injured. Expensive lesson learned!"
