PHV driver reverses car into condo security guards, scolds them: 'You're just a bloody dog'
A private-hire vehicle (PHV) driver reversed his car into two security guards at the entrance of Parc Esta condominium on June 30 evening.
Stomper Andrew shared a video of the incident, which took place around 8pm at the Sims Avenue condo.
"The altercation allegedly started when the PHV driver was driving a resident home into the condo, but was held for security checks as per protocol," said the Stomper.
"The resident took a while to look for the card key and the driver lost his temper and allegedly screamed 'You are wasting my time, you f***ing dog.'
"That was when the police were called, but he didn't want to wait and tried to reverse away into the guards. This is when the video started."
The three-minute video shows the grey Toyota Prius reversing into one of the security guards with a safety cone already crushed underneath the vehicle.
The security guards were seen asking the driver to stop with another security guard using his phone to record the incident.
At one point, the driver tried to reverse out into two security guards before they opened the driver’s door and asked him to step out.
As he exited the vehicle with a mix of shouting and vulgarities, the male driver in a grey T-shirt, khaki shorts and slippers was also recording the incident with his mobile phone.
He can be heard scolding the security guards in the video:
- “You called me a stupid driver... you also."
- “You are just a security guard here. Don’t abuse it."
- “You are wasting my time. I am just here to drop my passenger, not to serve you all.”
- “Give you just a bit of authority, and you want to f*** me?”
- “I do not look down on you, use a bit of initiative.”
- “I say you are just a bloody dog.”
Netizens commenting on the video argued over whether the security guards had the right to detain the driver.
One commenter said: "Security can stop him from entering only. Why are they blocking him from going out? Let him go lah."
Another replied: "Every citizen has the right to stop the person from fleeing and wait for police to arrive. It’s the same as people chasing down molesters and hold them until police come."
Someone else commented: "Most condo security are either rude or totally 'boh chap'. How can they detain a driver? If they have not, he won’t have to say so many things."
In response to a Stomp query, the police confirmed that a report was lodged and added that investigations are ongoing.
