Passer-by slams 'pathetic sight' of rubbish likely scattered by rag-and-bone man in Bukit Batok
A man was incensed to see rubbish strewn around the ground floor of Block 267 Bukit Batok East Avenue 4.
Stomper Steven came across the litter on the morning of June 23 and shared photos of the mess.
He said: "This is the pathetic sight that greeted me as I walked past the block on a Sunday morning.
"Someone could have deliberately tore open the garbage bags and scattered the contents all over the floor. Or were stray dogs responsible?"
In response to a Stomp query, a spokeswoman for Jurong-Clementi Town Council said on June 26: "Our conservancy cleaners discovered the litter on the morning of June 23 and promptly removed it.
"Based on our findings, the items were likely scattered by a rag-and-bone man. There were no signs of dogs rummaging through or biting the trash bags.
"A poster to educate residents on proper disposal will be put up at the affected location."
Residents who observe such indiscriminate littering can report it via the OneService app or contact the town council at 6512 2222, added the spokeswoman.
