A Ryde passenger was insulted after a private-hire driver allegedly made an offensive comment about her weight.

Stomper MC, shared with Stomp that she had booked a ride to Yishun via ride-hailing app Ryde on Feb 13.

"The driver was extremely rude, he insulted me," she said.

"He is a fatphobic person."

She recounted that the driver told her that considering her size, she should take another ride.

In a screenshot shared by the Stomper, the driver drives a Honda Shuttle and has a five-star rating.

"He said, 'Wah, so fat!'," she added.

"I am literally paying you to send me home and you talk to me this way despite being a Ryde driver?

"How do you expect to keep a job with this attitude?"

MC questioned whether Ryde condones such behaviour and emphasised that no one should be judged or ridiculed for their appearance.

"This is a free country where religion, race, size, and gender shouldn't even be used as a joke," she said.

"A fatphobic remark shouldn't be used in 2025.

"We are in a generation where bullying and harassment shouldn't be tolerated."
